Janice and David: We’re Married (part II)

May 27th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

It’s been a crazy couple of months here, but I wanted to keep posting some pictures from a wedding that I had the awesome opportunity to second shoot with Kenny Kim from Chicago.  He is just an awesome photographer!  We met at Mike Colon’s workshop this past January and he is one of several people that I admire from our group.  Anyway, here are some more shots.  I keep going through them when I have a few minutes here or there between my other shoots and my “day job”.  This beautiful wedding was held in Los Altos and Palo Alto California.  Several more to post from our shoot at Standford University!  Wow, what a place to take pictures!  Thanks for looking!

A day at the beach!

May 25th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

A few weeks ago my family and I took the 90 minute drive to the bay area (San Francisco) and went over to the Marin headlands to watch the surfers and dig in the sand.  The beach is our ultimate favorite place to be at….mine to relax and listen to the waves, Joe to watch the surfers, and the girls to dig in the sand, of course!  :)  Here are a few pictures…..

Ok, here is one of my favorites…… a little sun flare at the beach!  Really like this one!  If you can’t read the writing in the sand, it says “I love my mom” with the shape of a heart for “love”.  I know I’ll treasure this one forever….

Then we went on to the Golden Gate Bridge to stop and feel the breeze.  Here is another favorite of my oldest just taking it all in.  I like this one a lot because she is so much like me and was in a meditative state, just closing her eyes and feeling the wind against her face.  I used some textures on this one and just love the feel of it.  I can feel what she is feeling in this picture.

We also went over to the Discovery Museum in San Francisco to take some pics of the kids playing at the VERY cool park they have there.  This picture I have to dedicate to my friend Fara Smith…  :)  It is soooooo her style!

This one is cool because I’m starting to use my wide angle lens more.  Love the boat here.

JP, Mon, and Sid: “We are family……”

May 24th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

This is a “part II” of a post I did a week or so ago.  JP is in the military and left a week ago for his second half of his tour to Iraq.  They wanted to take some family pictures before he left so here are a few more to check out.  They are sooooo photogenic!    JP is about 6′ 5″ and weighs about 240 lbs., compared to little Monica at 4′11″.  So cute!  Thanks you guys!  Our prayers are with JP while he is gone and with you, Monica, while you are being mom and dad to little Sid for the next 7 months.  You have made it half way!!!  Love you guys!

Linda and Gil: Married!

May 22nd, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

I had the pleasure of documenting Linda and Gil’s wedding last month and hadn’t “blogged” about it yet….  What a great couple!  After almost giving up on finding the right mate, they both decided to sign up for on-line dating.  They both questioned themselves, wondering if they should really try again and sign up for such a service…..to find someone using the computer.  Well….they found each other!  And it is the perfect match.  They had very specific qualities that they were looking for and the most important was to find a Christian mate.  After dating for a few months, they were happily engaged.  And to show ALL their grandkids a great example, they even saved their first kiss for the moment they were pronounced “husband and wife”!  Amazing!  Congratulations Linda and Gil!  Match made in heaven, literally!

May 21st, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Lori and Chris met at a design center while choosing interiors for each of their new individual homes.  Phone numbers were exchanged and three years later, they are engaged and getting married in July.  Thank you Lori and Chris for getting together this weekend for your engagement session.  Can’t wait for your big day in July, just two months away.  You guys were awesome to work with and just an all around great couple!  Thank you for letting me capture these moments.  Here is a “sneak peek” for today.  There are soooooo many more, but it’s pushing midnight, so I better wrap it up for today.  Enjoy!

Jean and Laurel allowed me to capture some mommy / daughter moments up in Benicia, California a few weeks ago, and there are sooooo many more pictures to go through, but I wanted to at least give Jean some “sneak peeks” that are WAY overdue.    Thanks so much for your patience!  You and Laurel were so awesome to work with and Benicia was a nice change of scenery.  Thanks for being such a good friend and I’m so glad that we met.  You are an awesome individual.  Our jobs brought us together several years ago, and I am so blessed for that.

Enjoy!

Arriba!

May 15th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Ok, for those of you who really know me or venture out to lunch or dinner with me occasionally, then you know my favorite food is mexican. :) Some of you even joke with me when asking where we are going to eat :) …. like it should really be a question at all. I could eat Mexican pretty much for every lunch and dinner, EVERY day! But I do sacrifice occasionally and do Italian for my friends and my kids :) Anyway, took a picture of one of my favorite mexican joints, El Azteca, in Roseville. All the colorful bottles in the bar have always caught my attention and I happened to have my camera in my car, so I busted it out and grabbed this shot.

“Just like a tatoo……”

May 14th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

I had the opportunity to take some family pictures on Monday evening of Monica and JP, with their daughter Sidney. JP is back in the country from Iraq and is leaving again on Saturday for probably another 6 months, so they wanted to make sure they captured their time together before he leaves. Thanks you guys for being so awesome and working together quickly before the light faded away into night. You are so great together and I’m so proud of you both! I’ll post more when I have time, but here is one of my favorites of Monica and Sid showing off Monica’s VERY cool tatoo “Lucky”.

Go fly a kite!

May 4th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Yesterday we had a nice time over at Ancil Hoffman park in Carmichael. My nephew came back from Iraq and my brother flew in from Washington State. Good time! The little girls flew a kite for the first time and the older one actually caught a butterfly in the net! She was thrilled! Here are some pics from the day.
