Crystal Petersen Photographers: Senior moment….the young kind.

December 24th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Here is a special guy to me, Zachy.  Well, I should say Zach with a manly man voice, but he is still little Zachy to me.  He’s my nephew….  and one of the best kids I know.  I just wanted to post this one real quick for his mom (my sister).  Can’t believe he is going into the last part of high school soon.   Love you!

Hi there!  Just wanted to post a couple of quick pictures of this brother and sister duo!  They were seriously so awesome to work with, the most well behaved kids I’ve ever photographed!  Yes, much better than my own, for sure!  :)  There are tons more of the family I will post soon, just finished editing the whole shoot so wanted to get these out before my whole right arm curls up from muscle spasms :)  Thanks Renee!!!!  Tell your brother and sister-in-law to “Enjoy” the pictures and the slideshow I sent over.  Hugs!!!

Crystal Petersen Photographers: Sarah + Dan….Engaged!

December 12th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Sarah and Dan…..where do I begin?  They are awesome people!  How is that for a start?  Seriously, I feel so blessed to be working with people like these two.  I am privileged enough to be documenting their wedding this coming June and I can’t wait.  Their engagement shoot was a blast, pretty much an entire day going all over San Francisco, from the city alley ways all the way to the beach at Crissy Field where the sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge was amazing and magical.  Just an awesome day!  Thanks you two!  Can’t wait to see you again and grab coffee…….  Enjoy!

This next one cracks me up because there is a Dalmatian dog looking at us from the upper window that is open on the right hand side.  He watched the entire time we were shooting.  Too funny!

Crystal Petersen Photographers: The girls…..the swings…

December 12th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

OK, I know, I haven’t posted in like….forever.  Just been sooooo busy with shoots and christmas orders, engagement shoots, weddings, etc.  ”It’s a good thing” (I think that is a quote from Martha Stuart, which I’m so not!).  Anyway, I’m going to post a few things here tonight and have about 7 more posts coming in the following weeks.  Here are a couple of my girls having some fun after I did a family shoot at the park.  I was laying on the ground shooting up at the girls flying in the sky.  Very cool!  Nearly got my teeth kicked out a couple of times with my wide angle lens playing tricks on my eyes.  Then another one below is of my oldest and I was playing with some photo frames I just got.    Enjoy!

Olivia and Sidney

November 8th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Just a quick one this morning before running off to the gym….  yesterday I was trying out the new chair I just bought specifically for these types of pictures.  It is my new pride and joy of “props”!  Love it.  So the little blonde one is my baby, Olivia.  She is just my little babes.  Love her!!!  The other little girl is my nephews daughter, Sidney.  She is so adorable.  There is also a picture of Sidney’s mom, Miss Monica!  You can tell where she gets her cuteness from!  Enjoy!

A special family, a special girl…..

November 3rd, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Good evening….  this is a post that probably will always be special to me.  Tonight I had a chance to photograph a family with a special little girl who has autism.  The ENTIRE family was awesome!  When I came home, I knew I had some special pictures and I couldn’t wait to start looking through them.  ”Paige” was so great to work with, she even felt my face and hair (told me I had clean hair :)  Good thing!) and looked at what color eyes I have.  Thank you to the parents for just letting us “play” and run around and most importantly, capture some truly amazing moments and pictures.  My husband and I sat and watched a slideshow I put together with the first round of edits and we were both crying, the pictures moved us so much.  You have a wonderful family and I can’t wait for you to see all the pictures!  I feel truly honored that you contacted me to take these pictures!  Enjoy!

my “other” baby, Grace….

October 7th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

My oldest “baby” is almost 7 and felt in the modeling mode tonight.  Just grabbed a few of her and had a couple of Livvy, the real model of the family, from when we were at the beach a few weeks ago.  She just turns herself on to “model” when the camera is out.  so funny!  Love you girls!!!

Happy 50th to my big brother Lee!!!

October 6th, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

This weekend was so awesome!  I flew into Seattle Washington on Saturday for a surprise b-day party for my oldest brother Lee.  He had NO CLUE that this was all brewing.  My mom, brother Rich, and sister Lynn all drove up with my nephews in tow the day before.  So much I could go on about….where do I start.  It was just the coolest thing to see my brothers face when he walked in.  I think he had a blast dancing, singing, having “a few” drinks :).  It was a ho-down, that is for sure.  Yee Haw!  Here are some pics from the party, but the first picture is a collage of pictures I took just in Lee’s back yard.  It’s so amazing, with a greenhouse in back, a full barn with train room, I think I counted 10 quads and now he has a new dirt bike to add to that collection, just so many nick nacks, antiques, just way cool.  Love the collage…..  Thanks to Haley for putting this whole party together.  You did an awesome job!!!  Love you Lee!

I agree with Mom, the black and white with only the bike colored is my favorite. We all kicked up our heels a bit that night and what fun it was!! He did tell me that I didn't need to do that again though. ;) (10/07/08, 4:41 pm)

  4. Lee wrote: Crystal your pictures bring back all the great memories of that night. I was so overwhelmed that night that it is great to go back and look at these pictures. Thanks for being there. The pictures in the back yard are awesome. Love ya CJ thanks again (10/09/08, 12:13 am)

The Magnusson Family

October 2nd, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

Last Friday night I had the priviledge of photographing an extended family with FOUR generations in attendance.  How fun! We went over to Clover Valley Park in Rocklin California and caught some good sunlight through the trees.  I have just started proofing but these couple of pictures caught my eye and I wanted to share a sneak peak with their mom.  Thanks Jenny for allowing me to photograph your family.  Your web gallery will be ready shortly!  Enjoy!

Morningstar Montessori

October 2nd, 2008 , Posted in Uncategorized

This year I volunteered to be the school photographer….. wow, lots of work, but sooooo fun!  Just wanted to post a quick collage of some of the kids.  This is only a small representation of all the kids… so many more.  When I have time I’ll post some more.  Lovely kids here and lovely teachers.  Morningstar Montessori is the best school my kids have ever attended, by far.  I highly recommend it.  Call and ask for Robyn or Gail for information on enrollment.
